Vytautas Kavolis Transdisciplinary Research Institute (Kavolis Institute) is an academic research department that conducts transdisciplinary research, provides a scientific base and research infrastructure for VMU studies, trains researchers and implements cross-cutting methodological approaches. It is the first consolidated university research Institute in Lithuania, bringing together researchers from more than 10 social sciences and humanities fields from five faculties of VMU into thematic groups: sociocultural transformations and identities, datafication and methodology, resilient societies and inclusive policies and urban and regional transformations. The institute leads several national and H2020 projects and is responsible for European social sciences data infrastructures at national level (European Social Survey and Gender and Generations Program).
