Gulnar Nassimova is a Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Political Science and Political Technologies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty. She is a recipient of Kazakhstan State Scientific scholarship (2023). Professor Nassimova led a research group on the projects: "Protest Potential in Kazakhstan: Features, Factors and Trends", "Educational Migration from Kazakhstan: Trends, Factors and Socio-Political Consequences", "Formation of the Political Culture of Student Youth in Kazakhstan". Today, Professor Nasimova works with foreign and Kazakhstani researchers on the project “Political Engagement and Participation in Kazakhstan: Dynamics and Expansion Opportunities” funded by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Also Professor Nassimova is involved in the CARSI project "101086415 Caucasus and Central Asia Research on Social Innovation: Development Assistance, Innovation and Societal Transformation".
